Annual graduation ceremonies are the highlight of the University calendar
During October and November, we mark the success of our graduating students with a series of ceremonies at the Royal Festival Hall on London’s Southbank. Over 3,500 graduands will attend the ceremonies, celebrating their achievement with parents, families, friends and colleagues of the University.
The expertise and contribution you, as LSBU graduates, will make to the world following your time with us is what strengthens this university and benefits those who follow in your footsteps, and we are very, very proud of each of you.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Pat Bailey
Our graduates have found success in all kinds of industries, from the arts and media to nursing, law, finance, and engineering. We're University of the Year for Graduate Employment - The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018. Six months after graduation, 90% of our graduates are working and 75% are in graduate-level roles, according to the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (DLHE) 2015.
We're very clear about what we teach and how we teach it. We listen to what industries and employers want, and use this as the basis for all our courses.
Read our alumni case studies to get a better sense of the varied career paths open to you as a graduate of LSBU.
Celebrating student enterprise
Graduation is a time to reflect and celebrate successes. One success story is the launch of the South Bank Collective CIC, which is a young and dynamic student-led creative agency. The collective is run by BA (Hons) Photography students and is supported by the LSBU Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute. Having completed a successful pilot phase, the Collective is now a registered community interest company.
South Bank Collective has been commissioned by the University to capture the authentic experience of the 2016 ceremonies from the graduate perspective.
Lifelong membership of LSBU Alumni Association
As soon as you graduate you become an automatic member of the LSBU Alumni Association, a global network of 80,000 former students.
As a member you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits, including: Employability and Careers Service; continued access to the Learning Resources Centre; LSBU Rewards Scheme, which offers discounted rates at the LSBU Sports Centre and special offers on services ranging from car hire to hotels; receiving South Bank, our biannual magazine, and regular e-newsletters; and invitations to organised events and reunions.
