The results of the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008) contained excellent news about the quality of research carried out at LSBU. Determined by independent panels of experts drawn from academia, business and the public sector, 80% of the research we submitted for review met a quality threshold considered to be at least Internationally Recognised. Of this just over a half was classed as Internationally Excellent and 7% World Leading.
This is an outstanding result for a non-research intensive university like LSBU. It clearly demonstrates that in research areas where we chose to focus, the quality of LSBU's work compares well with that performed at more illustrious research universities. Read more about it by downloading this report from the Times Higher Education (external PDF).
The following tables provide a comparison of LSBU RAE2008 performance relative to other post-1992 and London universities for the subject areas (Units of Assessment) to which LSBU submitted. Read LSBU's RAE 2008 Performance Tables by Unit of Assessment (PDF File 127 KB).
