To come to university we want you to have the necessary skills to successfully study
To study as an undergraduate you'll usually have previous qualifications and our Admissions Tutors are looking for evidence of your motivation, commitment, aptitude and potential.
It's also essential you show us you have a good standard of maths or numeracy, communication and IT, along with a sound knowledge and interest in the subject area you're applying to.

UCAS Tariff points explained
Undergraduate university courses explain their entry requirements in UCAS Tariff points. For home students, many of the qualifications you hold i.e. GCE 'A' Levels, BTEC National or qualifications at a level comparable to them, give you a Tariff point score.
Tariff point requirements vary across courses so read the Entry Requirements for each course in our Course Finder.

For September 2017 entry the number of UCAS tariff points that qualifications are worth is changing.
The UCAS tariff calculator is a useful tool to add up what your qualifications are worth in terms of tariff points.

Receiving an offer
We consider all the information you provide on your application form or produce at interview to decide if we can make you an offer.
This includes your past academic performance, predicted grades, personal statements, tutors' preferences and any other evidence of skills, aptitude and potential.
UCAS video: how to make sense of your offers
When we write offering you a place it may be a Conditional Offer. This means you're being asked to achieve particular grades in certain subjects to secure your place.
UCAS video: when do I have to reply to my offers?
What to do if you haven't met the conditions of your offer
If, when you receive your results, you have not quite achieved the requested grades you should check on UCAS Track as you may still have a place at university. If we have any places left on the course at this time your place may be reconsidered.
